Imphal: Manipur governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla extended his ‘best wishes and warm greetings’ to the people of Manipur on the occasion of 53rd Statehood Day.
“Manipur became a full-fledged State of the Indian Union on the 21′ January, 1972 and it was a dream come true for the people of Manipur. Manipur became equal partners with other States in building a modern India and along with it came the responsibilities and opportunities. It is in the hands of the people of the State to take full advantage of these new avenues which have been opened up and shape their destiny. Since attaining Statehood, Manipur has, indeed, been making rapid progress in different fields of development. There is need to sustain this pace to march in tandem with the rest of the country, welfare measures need to be pursued more vigorously, based on equity where all citizens of the State irrespective of caste, creed or religion feel the sense of belonging to an egalitarian society,” the governor said.
“Let us all come together and work relentlessly to make Manipur a peaceful and prosperous State. Once again, my best wishes to the citizens of Manipur on the occasion of Statehood Day, 2025.”
