Imphal: One hand grenade was found at the residence of one member of the joint action committee formed in connection with the 56-year-old missing person, accompanied by a warning note, on Thursday morning.
The bomb was found planted at the gate of one Laishram Binod of Loitang Khunou Maning Leikai, Imphal West, at around 7 am, said police.
The bomb was planted along with a written note which translates as “last warning to JAC Kamalbabu, must dissolve the JAC and form a new one, no contractor must be a member of the new JAC, all issue instigators will be killed, K.C.P.”
Police said it was planted by suspected members of the banned organization, Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP).
A case has been registered at Sekmai Police Station for further investigation.
Kamalbabu has been missing since November 25 from within the 57 Mountain Division, Leimakhong Army Campus.
Manipur Cabinet had decided to handover the missing case of Kamalbabu to the CBI.
