Imphal: Manipur government declared Monday half-holiday for all offices and educational institutions under the Government of Manipur as a mark of respect to the memory of late N. Kayisii, MLA of 49-Tadubi Assembly Constituency, Manipur who passed away on Saturday.

MLA Kayisii, who also served as the president of the National People’s Party (NPP) Manipur, passed away after a prolonged illness at his official residence in Imphal.

Kayisii had been serving as the Manipur state unit president of the NPP since March 2021. He previously held the position of  inister for Tribal and Hill Areas Development and Fisheries during his tenure (2017 to 2020). He was 58 years old.

Chief minister N. Biren Singh extended his condolences over the demise of MLA Kayisii.

In a post on X, Singh wrote, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of N. Kayisii, the respected MLA of Tadubi AC. His service to the people of Manipur and his commitment to the well-being of our state will always be remembered.”

“At this moment of grief, my heartfelt condolences go out to his family, loved ones, and all who held him in high regard. May his soul rest in peace, and may we honour his memory by continuing the work he was so passionate about,” he added.
