Imphal: Clarification on the Congress’s accusation that the BJP-led state government paid Rs 6 crore to a militant group under the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement, would come from the party, said chief minister on Sunday.
The chief minister was responding to reporters who went to cover Gaan-Ngai state-level festival celebration at Sagolband Ramji Kabui village on Sunday. Gaan-Ngai is a festival of Zeliangrong people symbolizing the victory of light over darkness.
“From what source they are alleging us, the truth which we cannot expose… In the government, there is secrecy, we maintain confidentiality. They always try various means to expose all such and track secrecy. Clarification will come from the regional platform, the concerned party. I have nothing to say about it,” Biren told reporters.
On the ongoing conflict in the state, the chief minister emphasized the importance of addressing core issues rather than being distracted by allegations and counter-allegations. He highlighted that the crisis began with a High Court order that triggered protests and subsequent attacks.
“We are going to perform our development works. Manipur is not a new state, ours is an ancient kingdom, and no one can touch us,” he said.
