4 acres of Poppy Cultivation destroyed in Churachandpur

Imphal: A team of Churachandpur Police, NAB, DFO, and 37 AR destroyed approximately four acres of illicit poppy cultivation at Haopi Mollen hill range of Churachandpur district.

While no arrests were made, 10 poppy pods were seized, and formalities were completed at Sangaikot police station.

An FIR has been registered and efforts are on to identify and book the cultivators, said Manipur Police.

The yield, estimated at 12 kg if harvested, highlights the importance of such actions in the War on Drugs, said chief minister N. Biren Singh in his Facebook post.
