Imphal: Two laborers belonging to Bihar, were found shot dead in Manipur’s Kakching district on Saturday evening along National Highway 137(A).

Police identified the deceased as Dashrat Kumar, 18, and Sunalal Kumar, 18, both residents of Rajwahi village in Gopalganj district, Bihar.

They were working as laborers under a mason named Prabhu Yadav, also from Bihar.

Police said both of them were staying in a rented room located at Kakching Khunyai Leikai near the CPI office. Unknown assailants killed them while they were returning to their rented room on bicycles after finishing construction work at Wabagai Keithel.

Police rushed the victims to Jivan Hospital in Kakching district. Hospital authorities confirmed that they were brought in dead.

Police are yet to ascertain the reason behind. “We are making efforts to nab the culprits.”

Police have registered a case in this connection.
