Imphal: Manipur Police on Saturday said during the last 24 hours was tense, but kept under control.
It said search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts.
During search operations one 51 Mortar, one 7.62 SLR Rifle with Magazine, two modified Sniper 7.62 rifle with empty magazine, one modified Grenade Launcher, two Barrel Guns, four IEDs weighing about 7kg approximately, three 36 Hand Grenades without detonator, one misfired 51 Mortar bomb, one nattery with flexible wire length about 10 meters approximately, two live rounds of 7.62 ammunition, two live rounds of Single Barrel, two 51 Mortar fired case, nine Anti-Riot shells, five empty cases of .303 Rifle, five empty cases of 7.62mm, one Wireless Handheld Set mark as Baofeng, one Bulletproof jacket, one camouflage jungle boots, one gum boots and two BP Iron Plates were recovered from Dampi foothills range in between Minjang village and Wathalambi area, Bishnupur district.
The security forces on Friday arrested one person, namely lamkhomang Haokip, 27, from Torbung Bazar under Churachandpur-PS, Churachandpur district. From his possession, one 0.32 Pistol was recovered, police said,
Movement of 189 and 390 nos. of vehicles carrying essential items along NI-1-137 and NI-14•2 respectively has been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, it added.
A total of 108 Checkpoints were installed in different districts of Manipur. No one was detained in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it said.
The state police department appealed to general public not to believe in rumour and be aware of false videos. Any circulations of unfounded videos etc. may be confirmed from the rumour free number – 9233522822 of Central Control room, it said.
It also appealed to public to return the “looted arms, ammunition and explosives” to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
