Imphal: A Memorandum (MoU) of Understanding was signed today between Government of Uttar Pradesh and Government of Manipur for implementing of Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat.
The signing ceremony was held at Gomti Nagar, Lucknow organised by Department of Tourism & Culture, Government of Uttar Pradesh in a formal function attended by Jayveer Singh, Hon’ble Minister of Culture & Tourism, Uttar Pradesh; Yogendra Upadhyay, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Uttar Pradesh and Mikesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary (Tourism & Culture), Government of Uttar Pradesh.
The Government of Manipur was represented by M. Joy Singh, IAS, Commissioner (Art & Culture), assisted by G. Dharmadas Sharma, Deputy Director (Programme), Art & Culture, Manipur and Government of Uttar Pradesh was represented by Ravindra Kumar, Special Secretary (Culture).
M. Joy Singh gave a speech on the occasion immediately after signing the MoU which was followed by presentation of 2(two) cultural items of Manipur i.e. Thougal Jagoi and Thang Ta.
This MoU will come into force from the date of signing and will be valid for three years which may be renewed for another three years by mutual written consent of both sides.
The MoU contains various activities including Cultural Exchange Programmes.
