Imphal: Manipur state Cabinet meeting on Saturday resolved to hand over the missing case of 56-year-old Laishram Kamalbabu to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Kamalbabu has been missing since November 25 after he went inside the 57 Mountain Division in Leimakhong, Kangpokpi district.
The cabinet meeting, chaired by chief minister N. Biren Singh, was held at the chief minister’s secretariat, here.
Kamalbabu was working as a supervisor for contract work with the Military Engineering Services (MES) in Leimakhong Military Station of the 57th Mountain Division.
The cabinet deliberated on the means to address the pressing concerns and prevailing situation in the state.
The cabinet approved financial relief of Rs 30,000 to families of deceased displaced persons to assist with last rites or funeral expenses.
Regarding Manipur Vehicle Scrapping Policy, 2024 the cabinet discussed and approved the implementation of this policy. Viability Gap Funding (VGF) Scheme for Flights approval was granted for the scheme supporting flights operated by Alliance Air.
On Manipur Helicopter Service ex-post facto approval was given for ticket fares on the Imphal-Ukhrul-Imphal helicopter route, along with a decision to continue providing subsidies on fares as per a previous cabinet decision dated January 15.
The Cabinet also approved transfer of 0.32 acres of land from IIIT Manipur Boys Hostel at Mantripukhri to the Manipur Police department for a new police headquarters complex.
It discussed the consolidated estimates prepared by the Deputy Commissioner, Noney, for additional compensation claims related to left-out standing properties and collateral damage under Packages III, IV, V, and VI of the National Highway-37 (Imphal to Jiribam road).
The meeting also approved for allotting land in favor of the director (Transport), for establishing the MST Bus Terminus at Moreh.
The cabinet approved the rectification of pay anomalies for various posts, including Supervisor (ICDS), Social Welfare, Village Level Worker (RD and PR), Junior Auditor (Finance), State Manager (IT), ASO/PS/APS (GAD), and Quality Inspector (CAF and PD), as recommended by the Central Committee on Pay Anomaly.
