Imphal: Scholarships nd free laptops were distributed for students with disabilities, under the Indus Tower Scholarship Programme 2024-25 at the Spastic Society of Manipur, Langthabal Kunja, Tapokpi Bazaar, Imphal West, on Monday.

The event was jointly organised by Indus Towers, Shishu Sarothi, and the Spastic Society of Manipur.

A list of 25 students with disabilities who were awarded scholarships was announced. In addition, six students received free laptops.

Among the laptop recipients, two were PhD candidates and two were junior research fellows.

Laishram Tokendra Ricky, secretary of the Spastic Society of Manipur, expressed that the increasing number of educated youths among persons with disabilities (PWDs) serve as an inspiration to society. He emphasized that PWDs are making equal contributions to society, just like others.

As part of the function, a PhD scholar from the Department of Political Science, Manipur University, who is also a PWD student, shared his personal struggles and experiences.
