Imphal: In order to maintain the law and order situations in the ministry of Home Affairs had decided to provide additional 20 Coys of CAPFs {CRPF-15 (Ex-Assam) & BSF-05 (Ex-Tripura)} to the Government of Manipur with immediate effect and upto till November 30.
The state government has been asked to work out the detailed deployment plan, in consultation with the respective CAPFs.
A letter was faxed to the chief secretary, Home secretary and director general of police, Manipur, on Tuesday.
The development came following the Monday gunfight between the Kuki militants and CRPF in Jiribam which took lives of 11 Kuki terrorists and injured one CRPF jawan. Six individuals including three minors belonging to Jiribam have been missing since Monday tragedy.
Sporadic incidents of attacking Meitei villages by Kuki terrorists have been underway since the past six days.
