Curfew relaxed during day in Imphal

Imphal: Manipur government has relaxed curfew in Imphal and other parts of Manipur from 5am till 4pm of Friday.

Curfew has been relaxed from 5am to 12 noon for the last few weeks in valley districts.

The curfew was relaxed as ‘there is need to relttx the rcstriction of movement to facilitate public to purchase the essential items including medicines and food items’.

This relaxation shall not include any gathering or sit-in-protest, rally etc. without obtaining approval through competent authority, said an order issued by Imphal West district magistrate on Thursday.

“However, movement of persons belonging to essential services such as Health. Electricity, CAF & PD, PHED. Telecom,Communication providers/Banking/Financial Institution including ATM cash filling. Petrol Pumps, Schools/Colleges. hitinicipality. Press and Electronic media. functioning of Courts, Child Ilelpline /Women lielpline/ Elder-line and to and fro movement of flight passenger’ to Airport and Contractor/Worker with valid Airport Entry Permit (AEP) Card shall be exempted from the imposition of curfew after the expiry of the said period of the relaxation.”
