Imphal 18 Septem: People of Top Khongnangkhong, Imphal East, staged a sit-in at the community hall of Top Khongnangkhong on Friday, protesting against the planting of a grenade at the residence of a former MIS and Audit director.
The Women Development Committee (WDC) and the Public Club, Top Khongnangkhong, spearheaded the protest.
Keshtrimayum Shantibala, a representative of the WDC, said the incident occurred around 9:07 pm on Thursday when unknown miscreants hurled a grenade at the residence of the former MIS and Audit director, Laishram Badalkumar.
She ‘strongly’ condemned such acts in residential areas. She questioned who would take responsibility if the bomb had exploded and injured innocent people.
She demanded that those involved in the incident should clarify their actions to the public at the earliest.
