Imphal: Veterinary Animal and Husbandry and Transport minister Khashim Vashum received bomb threat at his residence at Hamleikhong in Ukhrul district of Manipur on Saturday evening.
Unidentified persons reportedly lobbed a hand grenade at his residence at a around 8.40 pm.
The bomb exploded at the corridor pillar of the building. No one was injured.
A team of Ukhrul police led officer-in-charge Chuingam rushed to spot.
The police officer said the bomb is suspected to be a hand grenade.
The police team took up investigation with the CCTV video footage.
Security has been beefed up in the town to ensure people’s safety.
The Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL) termed the bomb attack as a cowardly act.
It said the criminal elements would have no place in the society and demanded the responsible persons or organisation to surrender before they are apprehended.
It urged to expedite the investigation and take up necessary action by the investigating agency.
