Imphal: There is fear in Manipur valley to face Myanmar terrorists attacks on September 28 following a report of their preparation to attack at multiple locations using drone bombs, projectiles, and other sophisticated weapons around September 28.
A letter from the Chief Minister of Manipur directing the DGP, Manipur, to take all necessary measures went viral on social media.
Over 900 Kuki militants, newly trained in the use of drone-based bombs, projectiles, missiles, and jungle warfare, have entered Manipur from Myanmar, the letter mentioned. It stated that these militants are reportedly grouped in units of 30 members each, scattered across the periphery, and are expected to launch multiple coordinated attacks on Meitei villages around September 28.
On September 1, Kuki narco-terrorists launched an attack on Koutruk village of Meitei in Imphal West, using drone bombs followed by gunfire, including suspected sniper rifles. The attack resulted in the death of one woman and injuring her daughter.
A similar drone attack was also conducted on September 2 at an IRB bunker in Imphal East.
On September 6, Kuki militants attacked the residence of the first chief minister of Manipur, Mairembam Koireng Singh, in Moirang, Bishnupur district, which killed a 72-year-old man. Similar long-distance rocket attack was also carried out in Tronglaobi, Bishnupur district, the morning.
In the midst, chopper noise fill the air of Imphal valley, assumed to be of Army looking for intruders.
