Imphal: Border Security Force director general Daljit Singh Chawdhary visited Manipur on Saturday to carry out comprehensive review of the Ops scenario and to take stock of the operational preparedness of the Force in the wake of recent escalation of violence in Manipur.

The DG BSF was received by Ravi Gandhi, ADG BSF (Eastern Command) and Sanjay Kumar Misra, IG M&C Frontier at Imphal Airport at about 1130 hours and visited Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh to review the operational preparedness of the Force and interacted with the commanders and troops deployed there and appreciated the role of BSF personnel.

During the visit, the DG BSF also visited ICP Moreh.

The DG BSF arrived at SHQ BSF CI (Ops) Manipur and had an interaction with the officers and troops through a Sainik Sammelan and had tea with Jawans. He appreciated their relentless efforts and contribution in gearing up the security mechanism in the state of Manipur and motivated them to carry out their duties relentlessly and with utmost professionalism.

The DG BSF also discussed the prevailing security scenario with the director general of police and chief secretary of Manipur and senior officers of other sister agencies.
