Imphal: Following serial bomb attacks in Bishnupur district of Manipur by Kuki terrorists Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (Cocomi) declared Indefinite Public Emergency in Manipur.

In view of the unrest and prevailing situation in the state and keeping in mind the safety of the students and teachers, the state government announced closure of all schools on Saturday.

Cocomi coordinator Th. Somorendro made the announcement at Moirang, Bishnupur on Friday evening after a team of the apex body met and visited the blast site.

This incident tells that no individuals are safe, the best precautionary measures are to remain inside as no central forces are able to defend from such attack, by Kuki terrorists firing improvised long range missiles.

“We do not trust central forces. The suspicion of central forces supporting Kuki militants is becoming clear. There are even suspicion that central leaders are involved in narco-business with Kuki Narco terrorist,” Somorendro said.

If Manipur government is not able to control the situation, all the legislators should resign and leave the issue to the public, he added.

The public emergency will remain effective until a concrete step of government is witness on bringing peace, he said.

Earlier, people of Imphal valley demonstrated a human chain rally demanding to withdraw central forces who are not able to protect civilians from the Kuki militant’s attack.
