Imphal: Amid the uncertainty and series of violent conflicts in Manipur, chief minister N. Biren Singh met governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhavan, here on Saturday evening.
The meeting lasted for over 30 minutes. It came shortly after legislators gathered at the chief minister’s bungalow.
It was unable to ascertain the precise reason behind the closed-door discussion, although sources hint that the chief minister may have conveyed certain demands to the central government during this meeting.
The recent escalation of attacks to Meitei villages by Kuki terrorists using drones and missiles resulting in casualties among civilians and state forces could be the reason of the meeting.
There has been rumors and speculation that the present chief minister may either be replaced or imposed Suspended Animation in the state in near future.
Sources said the chief minister is going to meet the governor again on Sunday at around 11 am.
