Imphal: The arrest of KNA (B), who was a Myanmarese, by the Assam Rifles clear speaks of involvement of foreign hand in Manipur crisis, said chief minister N. Biren Singh on Monday.

The chief minister was talking to reporters at Manipur Press Club here.

The apprehension of involvement of foreign hand in the conflict was not be believed by some sections of people, Biren said.

The KNA (B) cadre identified as Thanglinkap, son of Ngampao was a Myanmarese born at Kolang, Khampat, Myanmar.

He was arrested recently in Chandel district of Manipur.

He was alleged of carrying out racees in the jungle track from Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh to Kuki prevalent district Churachandpur  to supply arms.

Biren appreciated the Assam Rifles for apprehending the foreigner along with the evidence of supplying arms to militants operating in Manipur. “As a chief minister I claim continuously that the present crisis is occured with foreign hand.

The chief minister also appreciated the media fraternity and wishes them all success in the effort to restore peace in Manipur.
