Imphal: Pushing towards restoring peace and stability in Manipur, the Indian Army has ramped up its search operations in the state to counter the surge of violence.
In coordination with Manipur Police, the Army successfully executed a joint operation on Thursday, based on precise intelligence inputs.
The operation resulted in the discovery of a substantial arms cache in the sensitive fringe areas of Kangpokpi and Imphal East districts, dealing a major blow to the miscreants threatening peace in the state.
The security forces recovered one heavy caliber launcher, one 12 bore double barrel rifle, one .177 Rifle with magazine, two pistols, one pompi gun, five grenades, ammunition and war like stores.
