Imphal: Two bombs were blasted at the office of the United Committee Manipur (UCM) at Lamphel, Imphal West, on Thursday evening.
UCM is an umbrella organization formed by various civil society groups in Manipur and was established on July 3, 2001 for the cause of Manipur Integrity.
According to police, a four-wheeler approached towards the UCM office complex and hurled two suspected grenades. One of the bombs exploded o the campus and the other near the main gate of the office complex.
No human casualty was reported.
Frisking and checking have been conducted by police, in and around the Lamphel area.
Superintendent of Police, Imphal West, Ksh. Shivakanta, DIG H. Herojit, and IG Themthing Ngasangva visited the site.
No individual or group has claimed responsibility for the blast, till the filing of this repor
On February 23, unknown miscreants set ablaze the UCM office.
