Imphal, 25 August, 2024: A ten member troupe of the internationally acclaimed music group Rhythms of Manipur performed at the third Festival of India, Namaste Vietnam on Sunday.
The festival was scheduled to held on August 25 till 27 at three different places of Ho Chi Minh city.
The Consul General of India in Ho Chi Minh, Dr.Madan Mohan Sethi extended invitation towards Rhythms of Manipur for performance during the Festival which is organised by the Indian Consulate to commemorate the 52nd anniversary of Vietnam-India diplomatic relations through activities in various fields.
The group showcased music numbers including the national award winning fusion music composition the Dancing Drummers and the State song Sana Leibak Manipur for three days during the festival.
At the inaugural function of the festival held at Rex Hotel Saigon, Rhythms of Manipur presented twenty minutes music composition.
Rajkumar Sanatomba Singh founder artiste and secretary of the group led the troupe.
Ho Chi Minh tour was the eighth international tour of Rhythms of Manipur. Earlier they successfully toured Hong Kong and Singapore in 2013, Port of Spain in 2017, Laos also in 2017, Surin,Thailand in 2018, Bangkok in 2022 and Kyoto, Japan also in 2022.
Besides the successfull international tours the group also won two Doordarshan national award through it’s productions namely Journey and Dancing Drummers. The group consisting of five male and five female artistes left Imphal for Ho Chi Minh on August 23 and will back on 29.
