Imphal: A week long “Free Children Heart Operation Camp” will be organised by UK based Healing Little Hearts (HLHs), Heart Team of SKY Hospital and Research Centre Pvt. Ltd., Imphal and Manipur Heart Foundation, Imphal at SKY Hospital, RIMS Road in October (6 to 12).
Sky Hospital and Research Institute Private Limited chairman Dr Shyamkishore Lairikyengbam told reporters at the the hospital on Saturday that during the camp, the joint team will be operating 2-3 children for each day with various birth heart defects who will not survive without such operative treatment.
He said every heart surgery of such little kids takes at least 4-6 hours.
The visiting team will be consisting of eight highly qualified and experienced specialists.
Dr. Shyamkishore appealed to the people of Manipur and North- Eastern states of India to avail the opportunity.
He also urged to the medical fraternity of the region to advise their eligible patients to take the opportunity.
Registration for the camp will start on Monday, on the “First come first serve basis although priority will be given to children belonging to BPL family and very sick ones.
Free OPD and free Echo also will be provided to the children selected for the camp, said the chairman.
Dr. Sanjiv Nichani, OBE, Founder President of Healing Little Hearts (HLHs) also participated the press conference via zoom from London.
He said this will be the 6th of such camps jointly performed by his Foundation (HLHs, UK) in collaboration with SKY Hospital.
