Imphal: Jiri Apunba Lup (Jiri people organisation) has urged the ‘relevant’ authorities to book all the narco-terrorist perpetrators at the earliest to ensure normalcy in Manipur.

Until the militants are uprooted from the region it will not be possible to maintain peace, the organisation said on Saturday.

Time and again narco-terorists (Kuki-Zo) have continued to attack the Meitei community over the last couple of month in Lalpani village near Seijang was mercilessly torched by the kuki narco-terrorists and also a house of Bengali Muslim nearby was seriously affected by the powerful bomb attack, JAL said.

It strongly condemns ‘these evil activities’ and said this incident is also clear evidence that the Meitei community has never initiated any such action.

“The radical kuki along with their militants have repeatedly perpetrated arson against the Meitei. This community has become increasingly problematic, not only in Manipur but also neighbouring states and abroad particularly in Bangladesh, Myanmar.”

Evidence shows that many kuki have been killed or arrested by the authorities concerned for their illegal actions. As a result, most of them left those places and started entering different parts of India, including Manipur, secretly, the Jiri people’s body said.

It has also been reported in newspapers that some individuals from the community been arrested in various states of India in connection with drugs trafficking. Hence it clear that they are the real perpetrators in the state, it added.
