Imphal: Water Resource and Relief and Disaster Management minister Awangbow Newmai on Tuesday inspected the overflowing of Imphal river at Kangla, Moirangkhom, Khuman Lampak, Ayangpali Road, Khurai and various other places in and around Imphal areas to prevent flooding.
During the visit, Awangbow said that due to the incessant rainfall since Monday some areas of Manipur have been affected. He also said that the state government is putting maximum effort to control the flood. He sought cooperation from the people to tackle the flood problems in Manipur.
The minister was accompanied by additional chief engineer (Flood) Y. Homendro Singh and other officials of the department.
