Imphal: Defence minister Rajnath Singh has been monitoring the conflict situation in Manipur to restore peace, said chief minister N. Biren Singh who met Rajnath in Delhi on Friday.
“It was a pleasure meeting the Hon’ble Defence Minister, Shri Rajnath Singh Ji, at the Parliament House today. We had an in-depth discussion about the situation in Manipur. Shri Rajnath Ji is diligently monitoring the situation and working tirelessly to restore normalcy throughout the state,” Biren posted on Facebook wall.
The chief minister said he also requested Rajnath Ji to expedite the handover of the Koirengei Air Field land to the state government.
Biren also met Union Transport minister Nitin Gadkari in the national capital on the same day.
He also met Union minister of Railways, Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji at New Delhi.
They discussed to complete the railway works undertaking at the Noney, Khoupum side as soon as possible and completion of the final leg of Jiribam-Imphal railway line and operationalise train service from Imphal at earliest.
Biren posted, “I also extend my gratitude to Shri Ashwini Vaishnaw Ji for the first consignment of food grains by train at Khongsang Railway Station, Noney District.”
