Imphal: Director of Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution (CAF and PD) Robertson Asem was threatened with gunshots of around 4-5 rounds at his residence, here on Wednesday evening.
A car was damaged during the incident. No human casualty was reported in the firing.
The incident occurred at around 10.30 pm. The residence falls under the jurisdiction of Singjamei Police station, Imphal West.
As per CCTV footage two unknown person came from eastern side of the Pishum Ningom Leirak, Imphal and shot around 4-5 rounds at director’s residence. The two unknown person escaped swiftly after they committed the crime.
One alto car white in colour bearing registration number MN 03P 7831 which was parked outside the residence hit with 4-5 bullet marks, police said.
Robertson Asem said there is no enmity or warning from any individual or organisation. “I am still confused on the reason of the attack and who did it”.
A case has been registered at Singjamei Police station for further investigation.
No individual or group has made the claim of the incident till the filing of this report.
