Imphal: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh has extended ‘personal’ invitations to the 10 Kuk-Zo MLAs of Manipur for the Manipur Legislative Assembly Session that was set to begin on July 31.
Biren expressed this to reporters on the sidelines of a benefits distribution and book release programme held at his secretariate, here, on Thursday.
“They ( the 10 MLAs) should come and participate. We will cooperate,” Biren said.
The 10 Kuki-Zo MLAs, seven from BJP, two from Kuki People’s Alliance and one independent, including ministers Nemcha Kipgen and Letpao Haokip (both BJP) have been demanding for a separate administration for the Kuki-Zo community, parallel to the outbreak of the crisis.
They did not attend the previous two Assembly sessions.
Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey, on July 13, summoned the 6th session of Manipur Legislative Assembly session of July 31.
The session was scheduled to conclude on August 12.
