Imphal: Deputy commissioner and DDMA of Tamenglong district, Manipur advised the people of Tamenglong to follow precautions for safety from thunderstorm and heavy rainfall.
A special weather bulletin issued on Saturday, the office of the district deputy commissioner said as per the Special Bulletin issued by Indian Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Science Friday, it is for information to general public that “Thunderstorm with lightning and very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places of Tamenglong district” on June 18 (Tuesday).
Therefore, general public are hereby advised to take precautions.
It advised the people to stay informed, keep updated with the latest weather forecasts and warnings issued local, state and national authorities.
It advised to reinforce old doors and windows and secure loose objects in houses, to stay indoors and not to come out of their houses unless under unavoidable emergencies.
Agriculture, fishing and other outdoor activities, as advised, have to be postponed till the weather condition improves.
The deputy commissioner advised people to stay away from flood prone areas, landslide prone areas, rivers and streams and immediately move towards safer places.
