Imphal: Customs (Preventive) Division, Imphal destroyed Amphetamine/Methamphetamine 18.69 kg, Heroin Powder 3.19151 kg and Ganja (compressed and uncompressed) 3016.93 kg on Monday.
As per the direction of the Commissioner of Customs (Preventive), Shillong, Meghalaya and as a part of Awareness of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit trafficking for achieving the vision of Nasha Mukt Bharat, Customs (Preventive) Division, Imphal carried out the destruction of the drugs at a brick field, Nachou Panthong, Bishnupur district, Manipur, in presence of the chairman and other members of a high level committee formed by the Customs Commissionerate.
The event was witnessed by the office bearers of Nachou Educational Social and Development Youth Athletic Club (NESDYA CLUB), Nachou Mamang Leikai, Bishnupur, Manipur.
