Imphal: Senior Manipur leaders of Congress have been rushing to national capital Delhi to ensured that the ongoing crisis in the state is tabled and discussed in the Parliament.
The first session of the 18th Lok Sabha was set to commence on Monday.
Congress MLAs K. Ranjit and Th. Lokeshwar began their journey to Delhi on Sunday, a source said.
CLP leader O. Ibobi, CWC member Gaikhangam, and Manipur PCC president K. Meghachandra will be departing Imphal for Delhi on Monday.
The delegation aimed to meet prominent AICC leaders, including president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, and Sonia Gandhi, on Tuesday.
Meghachandra said they make the visit to ensure that the voices of Manipur are raised in Parliament by the elected MPs from both the Indian National Congress (INC) and the INDIA Bloc, including the two representatives from Manipur.
He emphasised the need for the nation’s lawmakers and the NDA government to address and resolve the 14-month-long unrest in Manipur as swiftly as possible.
