Imphal : With the action plan of the third term of Modi led India government, a solution on the Manipur crisis may come within 2-3 months, said chief minister N. Biren Singh during the International Yoga Day celebration held at Khuman Lampak Indoor Hall, here, on Friday.

“Violence occurs everywhere. The violence in Manipur has been reduced with some sporadic firings taking place in fringe areas. Schools, government establishments, markets, and businesses are opened in secure areas. It indicates of returning to normalcy,” Biren said.

The actual crisis took place only for 6-7 months, however, there has been unrest in Manipur for 14 months, he added.

Biren admits that the Jiribam violence was occurred due to a lack of security arrangements. He said the law and order situation has improved in the bordering district as all the security personnel have been redeployed in vulnerable areas.

The present unrest in the entire northeast is due to the influx and drug menace from outside the region, he added.
