Assam Rifles recovers arms in Imphal West

Imphal: Assam Rifles recovered huge cache of arms, bombs and ammunition from Charoibung in Imphal West district of Manipur on Wednesday.

“Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms in general area Charoibung, in Imphal West district, Manipur, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police, raided a hideout in on 19 June 24 and carried out at houses, fish farms & paddy fields,” the Assam Rifles said.

The extensive search resulted in recovery of one carbine machine gun, two single barrel guns, 12 grenades, six tube launching, ammunition and war like stores, it added.

The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, it added.
