Arms recovered

Imphal: Assam Rifles and Manipur Police have recovered arms and ammunitions in Bishnupur and Tengnoupal districts.

​Acting on specific intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Keinou, in Bishnupur district of Manipur, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a search operation. Extensive search was carried out at houses, fish farms and paddy fields, the Assam Rifles said.

The operation resulted in recovery of one Carbine Machine Gun, one 9 mm pistol, nine grenades, ammunition and war like stores.

​The recovered items have been handed over to Manipur Police, the Assam Rifles said.

​Acting on another intelligence of presence of arms and ammunition in general area Maojang village, in Tengnoupal district, Manipur, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police launched a cordon and search operation on Monday and recovered one AK- 47 Rifle, four shot guns, one Sig Sauer Pistol, three improvised Explosive Devices (IED), ammunition and war like stores.

The recovered items were handed over to Manipur Police.
