Imphal: Manipur Police has urged Moreh (Indo-Myanmar border town in Tengnoupal district of Manipur) residents to maintain law and order during curfew.
Manipur Police Control Room on Monday said on Sunday the locals violated the curfew in Moreh, crowding liquor shops. The joint security forces, while acting to impose the curfew guidelines, tried to disperse the crowd. When the crowd misbehaved, confiscation of stores through legal process was carried out. A case has been registered in this regard for further investigation, it added.
During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state was tense but under control, the police control room said.
Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of hill and valley districts, it added.
