Imphal: Jwellery shopkeepers of Wahengbam Leikai, Imphal on Monday staged a sit-in demanding to book the armed looters involved in Naorem Krishnadas shooting and looting of gold worth over 20 lakhs case at Wahengbam Leikai, Imphal.
Naorem Krishnadas, 37, son of N.Muhindro of Kakching Ningthou Leikai, Kakching district was shot by armed miscreants on Saturday late evening and looted gold worth around Rs 20 lakhs.
The incident was occurred after Krishnadas along with two other companions were apprehended by some armed miscreants while returning to his home from his jewellery shop opened at Wahengbam Leikai, Imphal.
The armed miscreants reportedly shot Krishnadas on his left thigh near Catholic school, Canchipur, Imphal West.
One of the shopkeepers told reporters that Krishnadas is doing the business by taking loans. It will be difficult for a normal people to go out from their houses if such incidents occurrs frequently.
He appealed the government to book the culprits involved in the incident and to take necessary steps to stop such violence in the future.
