10 political parties condemn Manipur government for ‘trying to disturb Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’

Imphal: Ten opposition political parties in Manipur have strongly condemned those who are disturbing the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra to be launched from Manipur.

It is very unfortunate that the state BJP led government is trying to disturb the yatra, said spokesperson of JD(U), Nimaichand Luwang.

Luwang was addressing reporters at Manipur Press Club, here on Friday.

He said the movement of Bharat Jodo Yatra led by Rahul Gandhi was a successful movement. In continuation of the movement and to get justice Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra is to be organised. Disturbing the yatra is highly condemnable, he added.

Disturbing the yatra is very unfortunate. The yatra is not connected with party politics but it is a movement to get justice for the people across the country, said Luwang.

It is a big opportunity for Manipur to highlight present unrest and issues faced by the people during the unrest. The 10 opposition political parties wholeheartedly support Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra and representatives of the respective parties will attend it, he added.

The yatra is a venture to unite India and various communities, he said.

The 10 opposition political parties condoled the Haotak incident where three persons including father son duo were found dead out of four missing persons, Luwang said.

He alleged that such incidents are occurring in peripheral areas of Manipur due to the failure of the state government.
