Security forces continue search operations in Manipur

Imphal: Security forces in Manipur continued to conduct search operation in the trouble torn state.

Search operations and area domination were conducted by security forces in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal West, Thoubal, Churachandpur and Bishnupur districts, Manipur Police Control Room said on Friday.

During the operations two arms (one INSAS rifle and one Carbine) along with magazines, five HE Hand Grenade, one country made long range mortar (Pompi) from Bishnupur district, it added.

During the last 24 hours. the situation in the state was tense but under control with sporadic incidents of firing and congregation of protestors, the police control room said.

It appeals to general public to return ‘the looted arms, ammunition and explosives’ to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
