Imphal: A joint team of district police, Tengnoupal and Rapid Action Police Force on Monday conducted flag march in the Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh.
After one senior police officer was shot dead with a sniper rifle, security measures in the border town Moreh has been intensified.
The flag march started at 3 pm from command post Moreh town towards Gate number 1 crossing Mission Veng, Tamil Mandir, gate number 2, Nepali and Muslim Basti, Canan Veng and ended at Forest Gate at around 4.30 pm.
The police officer, Ch. Anand was shot dead with a sniper on October 31 while inspecting the new helipad constructed at Eastern Shine School, Moreh. The bullet hit the back of Anand and exited from his abdomen. The MPS officer succumbed to his bullet injury while trying to air-lift to Imphal for treatment.
