Imphal: Thirty-two Myanmar nationals were detained during a cordon and search operation which was launched to nab Kuki militants involved in the killing of Ch. Anand Kumar, SDPO of Moreh Police station, on Wednesday morning.
Forty-four Kuki people were detained, out of which 32 persons were reportedly found to be of Myanmar nationals.
The operation was launched by the Special Commandos, Manipur Rifles, Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB), Assam Rifles and Border Security Forces (BSF) at Moreh morning market colony.
Further, 10 Myanmarese from Moreh were taken to Foreigners Detention Centre, Sajiwa in Imphal, a police report said.
