Salaicha Mapari Mamom launched to fight for peace in Manipur

Imphal: Salaicha Mapari Mamom, a platform of students to fight against Manipur violence and to restore normalcy and safeguard Manipur, was launched on Monday at Uttra Shanglen, Palace Compound, here.

Spokesperson of the students’ group Martin Tongbram said in the present unrest many students have sacrificed their life for the cause Manipur.

On September 27 during an agitation many students were injured as the protest was not led by leaders or a group. “To bring a right direction under a voice Salaicha Mapari Mamom was launched.”

Volunteers of the group took oath at Uttra Shanglen in front of Angom King and elders.

Martin said the group will be dissolved immediately when the present turmoil in the state end.

Any student who wants to join the group can take oath on Sundays, he said
