Imphal: Sunita Didi of Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Guwahati along with three others Manipur governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan on Friday and expressed their anguish over the ethnic violence of two communities which claimed many lives in the state.
The team drew the attention of the governor to take all possible efforts to bring in a durable solution. They stated that trust deficit between the two communities have to be removed and therefore steps to bring them to a negotiating table should be taken up.
They also informed about their visits to different relief camps.
The team wished the governor for Raksha Bandhan and tied Rakhi to her.
The governor thanked them for their support in the efforts to restore peace in the state and said, the need of the hour is to bring the two communities in the negotiating table together to solve the issue amicably.
Expressing her deepest concern over the fresh spate of violence in the last two-three days, the governor said, violence will not bring any solution and therefore all have to shun out the violence. She said, all have to live together with peace and should not resort to violence.
