Imphal: Security forces have recovered four arms and five ammunitions from two districts of Manipur on Sunday.
“Search operations were conducted in the fringe and vulnerable areas of Imphal-West and Bishnupur districts by the State Police and Central Security forces and recovered 04 (four) arms and 05 (five) ammunitions,” Manipur Police Control Room said.
The details of the arms and ammunitions was not mentioned in the statement released by the police control room.
During the last 24 hours, the situation in the state is normal with sporadic incidents of congregation of protestors, the police control room said.
A total of 124 heckpoints were installed in different Districts of Manipur, both in the hill and the valley and Police detained 1217 persons in connection with violations in different districts of the state, it added.
Movement of vehicles on N1-1-37 and NH-2 with essential items have been ensured. Strict security measures are taken up in all vulnerable locations and security convoy is provided in sensitive stretches in order to ensure free and safe movement of the vehicles, it said.
It appeals to the general public not to believe in rumours and be aware of false videos. Any circulation of unfounded videos etc may be confirmed from the rumour free number – 9233522822 of Central Control room.
It also appeals to public to return the looted arms, ammunition and explosives to the police or nearest security forces immediately.
There has been reports of looting of arms by people during the ongoing Manipur crisis that erupted on May 3.
