Imphal: Vineet Joshi, chief secretary and Kuldiep Singh, security advisor to the Government of Manipur met Anusuiya Uikey, governor and they apprized the governor of the latest situation of law and order in the dtate arising out of the ethnic clash that broke out on 3rd May.
She discussed the issue with them to explore the ways and means to bring a peaceful situation through an amicable dialogue involving all stakeholders concerned.
She advised them to get expedited the bovernment to convene weekly meeting of Monitoring Committee to get feedback of action taken and problems faced ; arrangement of agricultural activities by providing adequate security; to approach the Medical Council of India to accommodate the displaced Medical students as per the availability of seats in other Medical Colleges; supply of adequate medicines in all the relief camps to keep the inmates physically and mentally fit coupled with equipment of entertainments; Rs 1000 to each displaced person out of which Rs 500 already sanctioned and arrangement be made to release the remaining amount of Rs 500 supply of adequate daily essential commodities, if required, the traders be directed to sell the items at the respective relief camps; re-settlement of those displaced people be arranged and construction of temporary houses for them be expedited as well as release of compensation for the victims, to hold the election of Autonomous District Council; to use drone for monitoring the situation; to review the order of “No work, No Pay” and meeting of all Political Parties, all Civil Society Organizations; Security Forces, etc. be held in Raj Bhavan in future to bring peace and normalcy.
