Imphal: Anti-smuggling unit of Customs Division, lmphal nabbed two drug traffickers who were ferrying drug at Khoibu Village near Kakching Lamkhai, Kakching Manipur on Saturday.
The two persons were identified as Dangshawa Kosam Tamrung Maring, 34 years, son of Dangshawa Robin Maring, resident of Laiching Minou, Machi sub-division, Chandel and Md. Salim, 37, son of Md. Salaoddin, resident of Sekmaijin Khunou Konuma, Hiyanglam, Thoubal, Kakching, Manipur.
The officers of the Anti-smuggling unit of Customs Division, Imphal found the duo carrying one backpack containing five brown colour packets of 50,000 Amphetamine tablets, which weigh 5 kg.
The value of the seized contraband drugs was estimated to be around Rs 5 crore.
A case has been registered and the two persons have been arrested under relevant section of the NDPS Act, 1985.
Further investigation to nab the other offender(s) of the case is going on, superintendent (A/S) K. Neihsial said.
