Imphal: Education(S) department, Manipur felicitated National Teacher Awardee, 2021, Ningmareo Shimray in a function held at Imperial hall of Hotel Classic Grande, Imphal, on Monday.
Shimray is a dedicated lecturer of mathematics at Ukhrul Higher Secondary School.
Union minister of state for education and external-affairs Dr. Rk. Ranjan Singh said the National Education Policy, NEP, 2020 is fully a policy of reformation in the education system in the country. There are a lot of prospects and scopes which we can expect from this new education policy. An outlook of employability can be seen in this NEP, he added.
Ranjan said the new policy has identified various areas through which education and employment can be linked. Vocational and skill education in schools and higher education has also been focussed with due importance.
The new system will be a game changer, he added.
The status of the teachers in the state still remains low. Their status need to be improved and upgraded. The Prime Minister of India is also giving thrust to improve the education system of the North Eastern states, he said.
Education minister Rajen said there have been many changes made in the education sector by the present government. The rate of enrolment in the government schools has been unexpectedly increased during the recent academic session. Mission. Equipments and other infrastructures have also been provided on priority, he added.
He said the department of education has relentlessly working for the effective implementation of the National Education Policy, NEP, 2020. A Task Force has also been constituted under the chairmanship of Commissioner Education. Sub Task Force has also been formed and assignments have also been distributed, he added.
Nine state teacher awardees and selected teachers who have dedicated to their service had also been honoured during the occasion. Dance and entertainment programmes were also performed by the school students of Ukhrul district during the occasion.
