Imphal: Spastic Society of Manipur in collaboration with Shishu Sarothi under the aegis of Indus Tower limited scholarship programme distributed two laptops and one white cane to the scholars of Indus Tower at the campus of Spastic Society, Langthabal Kunja, here, on Monday.
Indus Tower (earlier Bharti Infratel) Scholarship programme is a corporate social responsibility initiative of Indus Tower implemented across the north east.
So far 28 students with disabilities in the 1st phase and 12 students in the 2nd phase were benefitted from Manipur under the programme.
For the current year 40 students with disabilities have applied for the scholarship.
Zonal operation manager of Indus Towers limited, Manipur, Sorokhaibam Langam appreciated the efforts of Spastic Society towards empowerment of persons with disabilities.
He said 260 students with disabilities from north east have been supported under the programme.
