Imphal: Manipur government has permitted to open the three Ima Keithels and the Temporary Market in Imphal city from Wednesday.
The women markets in the city remained closed in wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.
An order, which will be enforced for thirty days from September 22 to October 21, issued by chief secretary Dr Rajesh Kumar said, “Three IMA keithels and Temporary market in Paona Thangal Bazar are allowed to open subject to preparation of schedule for the vendors…”
It suggested the IMC to devide the vendors in three groups by following the stall numbers ensuring 6 feet physical distancing between vendors.
Wearing of mask is compulsory, it said.
Sunday will remain closed for cleaning and sanitization, it added.
Markets/keithels except the Ima markets may open with 50 percent capacity and concerned district administration ensuring adequate physical distance between them and all of them wear masks, the order said.
Night curfew has been shortened from 8.30 pm to 4 am from Wednesday.
Restaurants and cafes are allowed to open from 10 a to 8 pm subject to ensuring Covid Appropriate Behaviour and also ensuring that the customers inside the eating area do not exceed 50 percent of the capacity of the restaurants / cafe, the order said.
Banks, insurance offices and postal offices may function normally without the shortened working hours stipulated earlier. Public transport buses are allowed to ply with passengers not exceeding 50 percent capacity of the bus. All passengers, driver and helper shall wear mask and police and district administration shall ensure that the capacity limit is complied with. List of activities permitted remains unchanged except the above, it added.
It said social gatherings and feasting are not allowed.
