Imphal: Tengnoupal battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) foiled cross-border narcotics trafficking near Tengnoupal on Friday.
During routine checking at Vehicle Check Post, Tengnoupal, troops of Assam Rifles while checking a vehicle, recovered 86 packets of Brown Sugar concealed in modified compartment, the Assam Rifles said on Saturday.
The narcotics recovered weighed approximately 1.1 kg and was assessed to be worth Rs 2.2 crore, it added.
The seized narcotics along with the vehicle and the drug trafficker were handed over to Tengnoupal Police for further investigation.
