Shopkeepers need to vaccinate at the earliest

Imphal: Deputy commissioner, Imphal East has appealed shopkeepers all categories of shops, pharmacies, workshops of Imphal East district to vaccinate themselves at the earliest date possible.

All pharmacies, workshops and approved category of shops may be required to get the shopkeepers and the persons manning the shops vaccinated and display the certificate of vaccination at the earliest. The said certificates may he required to be shown while enquired for production by the police and district administration, Imphal East deputy commissioner Khumanthem Diana Devi said.

The deputy commissioner in the plea to the people said vaccination is the only means to protect ourselves from Covid-19 and persons vaccinated with the vaccines of Covid-19 have faced the disease with less severity. The district administration along with chief medical officer have been organising mass AC wise vaccination programmes all over the district since June 21 in the interest of general public.

“The district is also coming up with programmes like vaccinations in offices, colleges and other suitable areas,” the deputy commissioner said.
